Years ago in Speedway, riders were often synonymous with clubs for many years and here at Berwick we have been able to retain some ‘old school’ continuity whilst bravely venturing into the modern era. Not many clubs can compete with the Bandits when it comes to team spirit and belief and the main man responsible for instilling these qualities has made commitments to an exciting new venture in his life but this means it’s time to step back from leading the Bandits into battle in 2020.

Full 2019 BSPA AGM Statement

SHEFFIELD’S elevation to the Premiership has been confirmed at this week’s British Speedway Promoters’ Association AGM.

The Tigers will take their place in a seven-team top flight in 2020, with Poole moving in to the Championship.

Meanwhile the second tier features Kent for the first time after members accepted an application from the Central Park club to move into the professional levels of the sport.

The management team of the Berwick Bandits were delighted to announce that they have been successful in securing the signature of Aaron ‘Spud’ Summers for the 2020 campaign!

Summers returns for his third straight season in Bandits' colours after his 2019 season was cut short when he sustained a broken ankle after an alarming spill at Shielfield Park but he will be back to full fitness for the 2020 season.

Bandits boss Jamie Courtney can confirm that it will be business as usual in Bandit country in 2020!

It is Jamie’s full intent to enter the SGB Championship division at the upcoming AGM, and plans are well underway to assemble a side that will look to go one better than the last two seasons and clinch a place in the 2020 playoffs!

New TV deal for British Speedway

Eurosport, the number one sport destination in Europe, today announces a new addition to its motorsport portfolio after signing a 5-year deal with BSPA (British Speedway Promoters’ Association) to screen British Speedway live in the UK.
