After the previous night's rain off at Edinburgh the two teams reconvened at Shielfield Park with the Monarchs keen to make a good start as Berwick "KLS" Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope of Wooler) were leading 8-10 when the abandonment happened 24 hours earlier, and they did just that with Ricky Wells and Victor Palovaara romping to a solid 1-5 over Kevin Doolan, but come Heat Two Theo Pijper and Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen reversed the situation with a fine 5-1 over Joel Andersson to level the scores 6-6.

Jye Etheridge made a brilliant gate in the third to lead and win as Dany Gappmaier passed Josh Pickering off bend two only for the Monarch to repass the Bandit off bend four to share the heat 3-3, but come Heat Four Aaron Summers made an uncharacteristically brilliant gate to lead well and was soon joined by Busk Jakobsen to form another fine home maximum putting Berwick four ahead.

Etheridge again excelled to win Heat Five over a forceful Wells who whipped past Gappmaier in a home 4-2 to put six points between the sides, as tactical substitute Wells lifted on bend one of Heat Six to allow David Howe through to join his skipper Doolan up front for another Bandits 5-1, the scores now reading 23-13.

Pijper took a brilliant pass round Worrall on the second bend of Heat Seven in a shared 3-3, before Palovaara shot out of the gates in Heat Eight to win untroubled over Howe as Busk Jakobsen took a fine pass round Andersson off bend two of the second bend to share the heat, 3-3 as Berwick held the 10 point lead.

Pijper continued his unbeaten-by-a-Monarch meeting by taking Heat 11 well over Summers and Palovaara to hit home another home maximum putting the Bandits 40-26 ahead, which moved on to a match winning 45-27 after heat 12's Gappmaier/Busk Jakobsen 5-1 ending the Monarchs chances decisively.

Team manager Scott Courtney said: " These guys are just up for everything at the moment and got rid of all their frustrations of two rain offs in two nights by taking Edinburgh reasonably comfortably some excellent passing on a Shielfield track which has rarely been in better shape. The Monarchs had their moments however had made sure we still had to work for out points, but this was a good satisfying display by anyone's standards taking all the points and leaving Edinburgh with none putting us back in fourth spot, two points clear of Ipswich."
